May 10,15, and 17 - Achieve-A-Bowl 2008.  Do you want to have fun? Do you want to bowl? Do you want to help area students? Do you want to win prizes? May 11 - The Lupus Foundation will hold their 21st annual Walk on Mother's Day at the Blue Back Square in West Hartford.  Registration begins at 8:30am with the Walkathon at 9:30am.  There is no registration fee.  Prizes, music, raffles, and surprise guests will be there.  For more info visit www.lupusct.org

May 15 - The Talcott Trotters are raising money to help fund research for Autism.  On Sunday, June 8th, the Trotters will be participating in the 3rd annual walk for autism research.  To help boost team morale, the Talcott Center for Child Development, Murphy and Scarletti's and First Bankers Morgage Company are hosting an event featuring food, music and a silent auction.  The event will take place at Murphy and Scarletti's from 5pm til closing.  Giant buffet style happy hour at 6pm. Live music from Pandemonium at 7p. $25 person.  Call 674-1824 or 693-8720 for tix but tix will be also sold at the door.  100% of the proceeds raised will be donated to Autism Speaks.

May 18 - "Hope Cuts"...The Modern Image Salon on 255 Main Street in Windsor Locks invites you to help the "City of Hope", an internationally recognized biomedical research institution focusing on cancer, diabetes, HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening diseases.  From 11am-3pm the Salon will be offering men, women, and children a shampoo and hair cut for only $15.  Proceeds to benefit the "City of Hope".  Call ahead to (860) 623-6623 to make an appointment but walk-ins are welcome.

June 4 - Would you like to optimize your health and receive integrative healthcare? Epiphany is a group of integrative healthcare practitioners offering complimentary sessions to the public the first Wednesday of the month beginning June 4th from 6-8:30pm at Favarh in Canton. June 12 - Join Boundless Playgrounds, the nation's nonprofit leader in the development of inclusive playgrounds, from 5:30-8pm at 960 Main in Hartford, as they announce a new program for the children of Greater Hartford - HIP6 (Hartford Inclusive Play).  HIP6 will celebrate the development of 6 new Boundless playgrounds in low-income or underserved Greater Hartford communities.  ESPN personalities and local sports legends will be in attendance for a meet and greet with photo opportunities.
