Before I type this I should probably do a quick Google search which I've been meaning to do for a while... but regardless of what the results of it are, I am still annoyed and discouraged about my poor hibiscus tree!!!
I bought this tree a few months ago, before we moved, because I'd seen them a few times and the flowers are just SO PRETTY... they are HUGE and BRIGHT and UNIQUE... but the problem is, the buds open up, last a day, close back up, and fall off!!! Is this normal hibiscus behavior??? Because it happens on EVERY bud, every branch, of this tree... I actually gave up on it because I though it had died... but since we've been at the new place I've been watering it and it sprouted 2 new flowers and had a ton of buds on it... but now the buds have all fallen off before even fully blooming and the two flowers that opened up closed back up and died! One of them was about to open before we left for the weekend... and by the time I got home last night, it had closed back up and fallen off. I am SO irritated.
Our friends have a hibiscus tree in their back yard and when I went over there a few weeks ago I was SO JEALOUS of it - it had about 15 flowers on it and it was absolutely gorgeous... so clearly I'm doing something wrong or I just have a weak plant!!!
My question is - is this normal, do hibiscus flowers only open up for a day or two and then close up and die???
My orchids are doing well... I was told over and over that they are the hardest to take care of, but they've been growing and reflowering constantly... one of them has a ton of buds that have not opened yet, and it's been a WHILE... so I don't know what's up with that... I hope they continue to do well. I hate bonding to a plant and then having it die. RIP Spike.
I am currently addicted to my VS lip gloss and I left them at home!!! So annoying, my lips are dry and I keep licking them but it just makes them feel worse... I really do have so many problems, really.
