That was my day. We went to look at a new place today... it wasn't that nice. Of course they show the beautiful kitchen in the picture and then the rest of the house is gross... The rugs were stained, the decor was atrocious (dark green walls with floral trim YUCK!!!) I love the place we live in now, but for reasons beyond our control we think it's better if we move... The problem is, there are so few places!!! We are spoiled and even though we're not looking for a place to settle down long term right now, we want something very clean and modern. And big enough for all of our stuff, a play room, and an office. We'll see what happens. I'm sure we'll find something... it's just a pain in the tush.
We had to go get new sheets today for our new bed... and I picked up a work out mat and a new hair dryer since mine is old and acting crazy. Then I went grocery shopping... I can't believe how expensive things are getting!!! I didn't get anything out of the ordinary and it was over $200!!! That's without having to get stuff for Kyla!!!! I did stock up on a few things and I bought a bunch of chicken, but STILL.
So when I was in the check out line the dude asked me if I wanted to donate $1 to the Jimmy Fund and I said sure... Then I said, does anyone say no? I mean, it's a BUCK. Less than what a freaking bag of frozen carrots costs these days, who says no to that? He told me "actually most people say no, and they have some excuse or say they already gave one last time"... What the heck? Gave one last time? OK so if you grocery shop once a week that's $4 a month! I don't know... It's not like I am a charitable person by any means, I'm not, but when asked for a buck at the grocery store it really is the least one can do!!!
The boy made super yummy dinner. Chicken, rice a roni, and carrots. I am STUFFED. I was bad and I picked up the new Golden Oreos, good Lord, they are GOOD. Most of the other stuff I got is pretty innocent - Special K bars, Honey Nut Cheerios, Carnation Instant Breakfast, chicken, frozen yogurt (better than ice cream, RIGHT?), some veggies (the kind I eat), and I even picked up some SPINACH so he can try to make something tasty with it for me. I like spinach in certain foods, like pasta dishes, so he's going to make some for me with garlic and butter. We'll see. I probably won't like it, I don't necessarily love carrots, but I eat them now.
I feel really lucky right now. I just have a good life, good people around me, a great kid and boyfriend, and a nice place to live (FOR NOW ANYWAY), and a job that I enjoy... I really want my website to be freaking done but it'll happen soon... just running into one little snag after another!!!
Speaking of which, I need to make a few phone calls before it gets too late... More later!!!
