Today is my sister's 28th birthday, and that makes me feel extremely old. I mean, I'm 30, so I feel old enough as it is, but the fact that my younger sister will be 30 soon and I'll be 33 and then it'll basically be like we might as well be the same age... ugh. And my little bro is 25 now... it's just ridiculous how time flies...
We've been moving all week... All things considered, it went well, but unpacking is not going to be fun... and some rooms still need to be painted, so we're going to be unsettled for a while... I did not want to move in the first place, so the other day as we're sweating our whatevers off and getting exhausted I'm thinking about what a loser this guy is who screwed us... Karma works in mysterious ways though, so I'm sure at some point he'll get his.
Kyla is very excited about the new house... she loves her room. In the other place we had a play room with all of her toys downstairs and then her bedroom had my old furniture and it wasn't really set up for a kid, but now she has her own room with little girl furniture and all of her toys in her bedroom. We're going to set it up and play this afternoon and tonight. I feel like I haven't had a minute to really play with her with the move and everything else that's been going on... so tonight and tomorrow we're just going to chill... I'm not going to rush myself to get the house set up, I don't really have the cash to go buy new things so I'm just going to make do with what we have and try to relax... next week will be another busy week!
And now for my angry rant. I have absolutely had enough of the way people drive around here. At LEAST once A DAY I see someone doing something reckless on the highway... truckers FLYING in the rain way faster than they should be going even when it's not raining, idiots on motorcycles zooming in and out of traffic (and they wonder why they end up killed - I have no sympathy), that one guy in a hurry who weaves in and out of traffic causing everyone else to slam on their brakes because wherever he has to be is so much more important than everyone else's well being... and last night one of our really good friends and another trooper got hurt while investigating an accident. Some jackass came flying off the exit without even thinking about slowing down when he saw the flashing cruiser lights, smashed into their car, which then spun and hit both of the cops... Our friend is in rough shape - he is going to be OK all things considered, but it's so senseless - and there are just way too many idiots who don't care about anyone else on the road... He actually just watched Kyla for us yesterday and has the sweetest 2 year old daughter himself... He was trying to help someone else and ended up in the hospital. So please, don't be an idiot on the road, it's not worth it!!!!
