Monday, June 2 - Park hopping is the new club hopping!
So my friend and I have decided that "park hopping is the new club hopping" - she has 2 kids, 2 and a newborn, and I have Kyla of course, and we're going to start having playdates at different parks all over the place... We already went to the park near her house in Rocky Hill, we have to go to our park in Newington, Norton Park in Plainville where I was this weekend for a birthday kickball party/bbq, and Elizabeth Park in West Hartford... any good parks near you that we should check out with the kids?
This weekend was great! Saturday we went to our friend Stephanie's birthday kickball party... I'm a loser so I didn't play - and my silly boyfriend played in BARE FEET because he left his sneakers in Philly where he travels for work... We had a cook out and some delicious bacon rice, chicken, burgers, etc... Then we went back to their house for more drinks - she made this AWESOME lemonade rum punch, awesome meatballs, my man made his famous bacon rice, we had a blast... It was supposed to rain on Saturday, but the rain held off until around 7... by that time my head was POUNDING and I needed to go home and get some sleep... My boyfriend's sister took Kyla for the night so she could play with Willie, so I took advantage of the evening to myself and caught up on some work and went to sleep early. Yesterday I slept a bunch and cleaned the house a little while the man went golfing... then he picked me up, we picked Kyla up, and took her and Christopher (Willie's older brother) to Six Flags... they live pretty close to the park in Windsor Locks... Kyla wasn't really into doing many rides... We did a few Thomas rides and a Wiggles ride, then she just wanted to walk around the park and play games. We ended up letting her try the dart-balloon game because they let kids play til they win... She got SO EXCITED when she finally popped a pink balloon, so cute. I have it on video, but of course I haven't had a chance to load it yet!
This weekend I'm going to NYC to see Legally Blonde on Broadway with my boyfriend's mom and sister, then Sunday we're probably taking Kyla to see The Backyardigans Live and then it's my boyfriend's grandmother's birthday party... Aren't weekends supposed to be for "relaxing"??? We have something EVERY WEEKEND!!! The following weekend the Wiggles are at Six Flags so we have a whole group going, and the next day is Father's Day - which I am working because I'm taking all these Saturdays off so I had to work a Sunday!! The following weekend is my friend's bridal shower, and then the weekend after that is another friend's wedding in Newport.... Then it's 4th of July weekend... This summer is going to FLY BY!!!
Oh, all this, and I don't even have an ounce of color... I need a tan!!! I think I am going to go tanning a time or two, I am so not a tanorexic but I have to get some color!!
Oh, if you love VS like I do, ALL shorts at the PINK store are $15!!! I saw them when I went to get our friend's birthday gift the other day, but I didn't have time to shop... So I'm going back with my credit card tomorrow to get a few pairs... Usually their shorts are $32.50!!
I think that's all I got for now... I have to get up early in the morning, very early, and I'm not all that excited about it... I also haven't had a chance to watch the MTV Movie Awards or the Denise Richards show from last night...
