Monday, July 21 - CABBAGE PATCH MANIA 25 YEARS LATER?!?!
OH IT IS ON!!!!
So here is the deal... anyone who has followed my blogs for a while or who knows me knows I have a large collection of Cabbage Patch Kids... and that I just love them. So how exciting is THIS... it's been 25 years since CPK mania started... and now Play Along is releasing kids that look just like the originals!!! I have been pretty disappointed with the last several releases... the first PA dolls that came out in 2004 and some in 2005 were great, they had a few cute baby and newborn versions... but then they went and slapped nasty eyelashes on the kids and some of them were downright freaky looking, but now... I am about to get obsessed again. I know what I want for my birthday and Christmas...
LOOK HOW CUTE SHE IS!!!! There are a bunch of them, you can click that link and see them at a recent toy fair. If you care. I don't know what it is about these dolls... I just adore them. Kyla and I actually spent the afternoon on Saturday redressing my collection... we played for hours, she ended up grabbing her sleeping bag and a pillow and brought them into my den (yes I said "my den", I'll explain in a minute), and started dozing off... she was cabbied out!!!
So I'm really excited about these new dolls. People make fun of me, but whatever... it's a hobby I enjoy, and they're cute!!
So as for "my den", well, I should say "our den", the new house has a "master suite"... we each have our own walk in closet, and then there is a vanity area outside the bathroom where I can put all my make up and hair stuff, then there's an office/den with 3 more closets and a huge window... we are putting our TV and a couch in there and making it "our den"... then the master bathroom has the huge hot tub and a massive shower... I will show pictures soon, it's ridiculous and far more than what we need in my opinion... but we had to find a place QUICK considering the situation, and there really isn't anything out there comparable to what we had... There's either complete dumps or palaces... and we went with a palace that we can possibly buy if we want to... It does need some work and the owner is going to get everything repainted for us over the next few months... but it's a beautiful house, and if we end up buying it and putting even more work into it it will be quite the dream home!!
Anyway, I should get going... Oh, but before I go... An update on our friend who is in the hospital - Kyla and I went to see him yesterday, she made him the cutest card... he is doing OK, but it just sucks this had to happen... stupid drunk driver!!!! I mean everyone knows how horrible these things are, but it really makes you think and makes you angry when it happens to someone you care about... He was scheduled to have surgery on his leg earlier today, he needs EIGHT pins and some metal rods in it to piece it back together... all because of some idiot who drove drunk!!! And his injury is not life-threatening and he's going to be fine, so of course we know it could have been a lot worse... but still, it's just awful.
