Friday, August 1 - Base touching and email shooting...
Seriously, I have had enough of the phrases "let's touch base" and "shoot me an email" - they are grating on my nerves. They're corporate America-isms and since I've really started going cajones to the wall with my website I've been doing a lot of "business woman" type stuff during the day and I keep hearing these phrases or seeing them in emails... then my ex goes and says he'll touch base with me next week about something concerning our daughter... and I'm like ENOUGH WITH THE BASE TOUCHING!!! Everyone says it now. I'm going to try not to start saying it... you can just say things like "we'll talk next week" or "let's catch up next week" or "give me a shout next week"... actually the shout giving is annoying too, especailly when used in a business sense because there just shouldn't be any shouting. Shooting of emails is annoying too... how about sending one? Thanks.
This weekend we're off to Newport as soon as I get off the air tomorrow. I can't wait. Newport is always fun. I'm actually watching Kyla and my friend's kids tomorrow night so they can go out... and then Sunday they're going to watch Kyla for us so we can go out. Nice how the babysitting sharing works out!
My friend just showed me this website... http://www.uppercaseliving.com/Products/Catalog/ - they sell really adorable wall decorations and lettering... you have to check them out!!! I want so much stuff... I will have an array of reading material on the walls of my house when I'm done - and the stuff is really affordable, removable (so if you have a child that outgrows something, you can just peel it off the wall!), and easy to apply... no stenciling or anything! We have to wait a bit to do some painting and stuff at our new place, but when we get to decorating I will definitely be getting some of these!! My friend Nicole in FL has a neighbor who sells, so if you end up wanting to buy anything email me and I will give you her info so she can get credit...
