MEDIA CHARITY POKER SHOWDOWN
$30,000 Total Prize Pool Donated to Individual Player’s Charities of Choice
Mashantucket, CT (November 6, 2007) – The dynamic duo of Damon Scott and Jeannine Jersey walked away the winner at Foxwoods Resort Casino’s Media Charity Poker Showdown on November 5, taking an impressive $15,000 back to Connecticut’s Komen for the Cure and Companions Animal Sanctuary.
Coming in second place was CBS 3 Springfield’s Chief Meteorologist Brandon Butcher who donated his $7,000 winnings to Thomas J. O’Connor Animal Control and Adoption Center. Third place was Boston’s CBS 4 Executive Weather Producer Terry Eliasen. He took back $2,500 to Children’s Hospital Boston. Westchester New York’s own Tracy Day from WFAS-FM took fourth place and $1,250 back to Vital Voices. Eric Fisher, from WGGB-TV News Channel 40 out of Springfield, MA gave his $950 winnings to The Jimmy Fund.
WTNH Channel 8 personality Matt Scott donated his sixth place winnings to Dr. Mel’s Multiple Myeloma Fund at the Yale Cancer Center. The Hartford Courant’s Jesse Leavenworth won $750 for Camp Courant. Eighth place went to Lee Elic from News/Talk 102.3 FM WXLM. He will be donating his $650 to the McLeod Health Foundation. Mike Bennett, from WHUD-FM, out of Westchester NY will be giving $550 to Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center. And finally last but most certainly not least was Celebrity Access’s Renee Falcone and WFSB Channel 3’s Rachel Lutzker splitting their $500 between Companions Animal Sanctuary and The Food Share of Greater Hartford. |
